Believe it or not, this is a question we often get asked, when it’s not assumed that our brand has something to do with my middle name. Some have suggested we change the name to “do what it says on the tin”. Our vision – equality – is in fact our name. On #IWD, we want to share what “Ginibee” means and does.
When I was setting up the mission to make Job sharing accessible, accepted and the norm, three things were critical in creating a brand:
1. That the name inherently represented the mission
2. That it isn’t gender specific
3. That it isn’t age specific
Ginibee ticks all of these boxes.
“Gini” refers to the Gini Coefficient, which is a statistical measure of inequality of income; the score 0 represents perfect equality – in fact, I was initially going to call it Gini0.
“Bee” plays into the symbiotic working relationship between a bee and a flower, where both parties benefit, much like a #TalentPartnership, our model for successful #Jobsharing. Including this reference to a partnership, represents in the brand our niche focus and expertise, in making successful #jobshare partnerships accessible.
So “Ginibee” means ....
“equality through successful partnerships”. Don’t just be….. Ginibee ;)! If you are looking to make a successful #Jobshare model more accessible to current and prospective employees, contact us, we would love to help. As well as our purpose built platform, we have insight, experience and passion, plus it's our mission, so you can be assured of our full attention!
